Enhancing the Cinematic Experience – A Refurbishment of Mini Theatre P. Ramlee
The Malaysian film industry, a vibrant and evolving sector, is significantly shaped by the strategic efforts of the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia (FINAS). Established in 1981 under the National Film Development Corporation Malaysia Act, FINAS is entrusted with the responsibility to promote, nurture, and facilitate the development of the Malaysian film industry.
The Mini Theatre P. Ramlee, nestled within the FINAS complex in Hulu Kelang, holds a profound cultural significance. Named in tribute to the legendary Malaysian artist P. Ramlee, it serves as a crucial venue for showcasing Malaysian cinematic heritage, fostering an appreciation for local arts, and providing a professional platform for film-related industry events.
Premium Rex: Elevating Comfort and Aesthetics
As part of a recent refurbishment initiative, Ferco Seating was engaged to enhance both comfort and functionality of the Mini Theatre P. Ramlee.
Premium Rex features a contemporary and sleek design contributing to a modern aesthetic. The seats are upholstered in a vibrant mustard yellow fabric, adding a touch of warmth and sense of refined elegance to the interior theatre space. The seat contours are sculpted to provide lumbar support, offering ergonomic comfort for prolonged sitting.
The seat functionality is thoughtfully incorporated through the integrated cup holders in the armrests, offering practical convenience for industry professional.
Integrated K-Roll System: Enhancing Flexibility
To further enhance the functionality of the Mini Theatre P. Ramlee, some Premium Rex models were fitted with the K-Roll system — a mobile seating solution designed to accommodate users with mobility challenges, allowing seats to be easily moved and repositioned without tools or heavy lifting.
The K-Roll system is equipped with castor wheels that remain locked when the seat is stationary. When the seat is tilted or lifted slightly at the rear, the wheels engage, providing effortless and safe mobility.
